But what is Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu?

BJJ has often received many analogies, such as folding laundry while still wearing the clothes. Struggle cuddles. Involuntary yoga or our personal favourite, a physical game of chess.

It’s a sport, a proven self-defense system, and a fitness program. BJJ uses base, leverage and applied technique rather than solely strength and size, therefore, allowing you to defend yourself against larger opponents or attackers. For this reason, Jiu-Jitsu is a great sport for everyone – no matter age, gender or level of fitness.

At its core, BJJ is a live-action problem-solving activity which routinely requires you to deal with difficult situations and find a solution.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is one of the fastest-growing sports in the world! After making its way onto the big stage thanks to its great success in the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) and Mixed Martial Arts in general BJJ has shown no signs of slowing down. BJJ focuses on grappling and ground fighting to get into a position to force an attacker or opponent to submit or give up.

BJJ is also an intense, full-body aerobic and anaerobic workout. Overall, your health, fitness, flexibility, strength, fat burning, muscular endurance, and mental resilience will all improve dramatically while training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
